In the middle of the 2008-2009 school year I accepted the position of Technology Integration Specialist. This position was to help K-8th grade students learn about the every changing world of technology and how they could make the best use of it in their lives. I also helped with training district staff in the use of the district’s technology, as well as fixing this technology when it would decide not to cooperate. I stepped out of this position in June 2017. I didn’t leave the district; I just switched to substitute teaching for a couple of school years.
This year will be my second as the 5th – 8th grade Science teacher here at Westphalia. I will also return to teaching computer science for all of Westphalia school. I couldn’t be happier! I have great co-workers and students that I look forward to seeing every day.
When I am not at school you will find me either at home with my husband of 33 years, 6 dogs, 1 cat, and a plethora of chickens; or I will be out putting more miles on my motorcycle. My children are grown and making their way through life. I have one grandson who is in 8th grade, and one grandson who is an Army Ranger. He and his wife have delivered a handsome baby boy into this world. My new great-grandson’s name is Ian.
Painting and loop crocheting are a couple of things I enjoy when I am not teaching. The thing that keeps me busiest outside of school is cooking for various church groups and events.
