Current Position:

In the middle of the 2008-2009 school year I accepted the position of Technology Integration Specialist. This position was to help K-8th grade students learn about the ever changing world of technology and how they could make the best use of it in their lives. I also helped with training district staff in the use of the district’s technology, as well as fixing this technology when it would decide not to cooperate. I stepped out of this position in June 2017. I didn’t leave the district; I just switched to substitute teaching for a couple of school years.

This year will be my third as the 5th – 8th grade Science teacher here at Westphalia. I will also teach computer science for all of Westphalia school. I couldn’t be happier! I have great co-workers and students I look forward to seeing every day.

Family Information:

When I am not at school you will find me either at home with my husband of 34 years, 5 dogs, 1 cat, and a plethora of chickens; or I will be out putting more miles on my motorcycle. My children are grown and making their way through life. I have one grandson who will be in 10th grade, and one grandson who recently transitioned from being an Army Ranger to civilian life. He and his wife have delivered a handsome baby boy into this world. My great-grandson’s name is Ian.

Personal Information:

I wanted to take a moment to let you all know I will not be returning for the 22-23 school year. I recently purchased a business with my son and once the school year is complete I will turn to fully concentrating on running this business. I have loved returning to teaching, and will miss teaching such great students.
