Welcome to the 2017 – 2018 School Year!
It is hard to believe that summer is over! At the time of this writing, the children have been back to school for two days. It really is nice to have our halls filled with smiling faces and excitement.
We welcome new staff members to our Westphalia/Mt. Ida Family. Ryan Metcalf joins us. He will teach 5th – 8th Grade Science and K- 8th Grade PE. Bayley Linn will be our new technology teacher. She has been helping us get our computers set up and “tweaking” some of our issues. We are happy to have Ryan and Bayley!
We will also see a lot more of Mrs. Rockers and our 5th - 8th Grade Mt. Ida Students this year. 5th – 8th Grade is departmentalizing this year. Mrs. Rockers is teaching all math and 7th Grade Social Studies. Ms. Carey will be teaching all ELA and 8th Grade Social Studies. Mr. Metcalf is teaching all Science and K – 8th Grade PE.
Westphalia/Mt. Ida is a wonderful place. The staff is dedicated to loving and educating children. Our parents are caring and supportive, and our students are the best Mustangs and Wolverines ever!
Please feel free to drop in or call anytime. We always want to hear your concerns, so we can work together to make things better!
Have a great year!
Mrs. Alford, Principal
